Leaving Three Angels
Today is our last day at Three Angels. A missionary team has come in and is going to teach Biblical classes to the nannies today, so we wrapped up the attachment and trauma recovery teaching last night with a review of techniques we had talked about last March. It’s exciting because on Three Angels wall is a list of Theraplay activities that the nannies are instructed to do with the babies each day. Christine Helgemo, who runs the Three Angels Orphanage right now, has created a structured and therapeutic environment for the babies. The nannies here, just like at MCM, are very interested in the babies well being and seem to soak up the information and enjoy using the techniques.
Today, I have been asked to work with a few of the ladies from the church team that is here, to help complete a developmental milestone chart that marks how far along each baby is in their growth. So we will input data while testing the babies one at a time. This allows Christine and the nannies to see how each baby is developing and they are compiling the data for adopting parents so they will know when their baby hit which developmental milestone.
Again, thanks for the support, prayers and love!
